Telling Buildings Apart from Each Other in San Francisco
We’re not architects, so we tend to group various architectural styles under broad umbrellas—Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, Sunset-y, Modern…? Thankfully, these experts have done the meticulous work of identifying all the fine and nuanced details, so now we can tell the difference between Shingle Style homes from the 1910s and the Third Bay Tradition (1964–1980)—though why you’d choose shingles with so many other options, I don’t know.
