This is the San Francisco You See on Film
If you want to buy in North Beach, you’re likely getting a relatively new condominium in the otherwise historic neighborhood. Indeed, unlike many neighborhoods, the median construction dates for condominiums here range from the 1980s to 1990s, meaning that most homes will be of the modern persuasion — with sheetrock, modern kitchens, electric ranges and lower ceiling heights (absent the errant historically converted loft or few you’d see at the Malt House). Apart from the 2001-era, 88-unit Malt House between Francisco and Chestnut (like Espirit Park in Dogpatch), you’ll see other buildings like Villa North Beach and other smaller- to medium-sized buildings with fewer than 20 units. Of course, you will get some old-school, coved-ceiling, wood-floor and paneled charm across Columbus. Parking is a premium here especially with all the tourists and people having a night out or running errands.
