Mission Rock is a 28-acre mixed-use project that has only begun to transform the area just south of Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. The 15-years-in-the-works venture, which was spearheaded by the Giants, real estate company Tishman Speyer and the Port of San Francisco, is set to bring around 1,000 housing units (24 of which will be earmarked for young adults transitioning out of the foster system), 1.4 million square feet of office space, and a new 5-acre park along the water that can accommodate gatherings of up to 10,000 people
